recouping

still not so sure of the water

hiking up the sand berm

After having a bout with the stomach flu this week, we are attempting to take it easy and hang out around the house. Amelia is the only one that really had it, and we are so thankful that it was a quick bug for her. Poor girl. We enjoyed some relaxing time down at our big sandbox this morning.

various and sundry things

nighty night big girl!

boys in the bay

Amelia is now sleeping in a 'big girl' bed. Should be interesting when we have company stay overnight since that is our only extra bed... but I'm sure we'll figure something out. So far, its been working great at night, but alas, during the last couple of nap times she has figured out she can climb down and play instead of nap. Ugh. Hopefully this won't be a daily routine for us!

We had the opportunity to be in San Diego again this weekend and we had a great time. The girls all went to a little shower for Megan and Mia on Saturday morning. Julie and Kathy did a wonderful job with the food and putting the whole thing together. I don't have any pictures because my hubs took the camera with him to the bay for an afternoon fishing trip with the fella's. No fish, but a little sunburn and a desire to go again soon when the fish are biting! I know most of you would rather see pictures of cute babies and kids, so hopefully someone else will post some pictures of the shower (don't be offended boys, you're cute too!). On Sunday morning, Uncle Bow woke up feeling miserable, so he stayed home while the rest of us headed to meeting. Aunt Tsiasa (or something like that...) went home afterward to take care of him so they unfortunately missed out on the nice meal at Ms. Red Freckle's parents house.

Amelia has been enjoying coloring lately. So today I decided to take some inspiration from my friend Brooke who always does such wonderful crafty things with her kids. Except for the fact that I didn't take note of how she always goes to the store before hand and is prepared to do whatever project it is she's doing. So with no glue sticks or glue and then running out of scotch tape, we still came out with the cheerful scene pictured above.

And for those who are interested, C & S's pet snake was quite well behaved this weekend and stayed in his cage! : )

family time

we forgot Nathan in the generation photo, oops!

can you tell who the center of attention is?

her new place to play

The Neil & Eileen Adkins family all went out to the desert to visit with Great Grandpa and Great Grandma (GG's) and the Jakeabum's on Saturday. It was so nice to be with everyone out there - even though it was only for a few hours. Amelia had fun playing with Aunt Rose's 'Grandma Box' of toys, wearing them out a little before baby Blake comes. Sara and I got to see Brooke and Abigail's pictures of France, Ireland and England... fabulous! We also heard both GG's and their girls reminisce of old times back on the farm. Finally, we treated ourselves to Abigail's yummy coffee at It's A Grind before heading out of town.

fair flowers

the fairest of them all : )

There is something so unusual to me about trees blooming in February. Nonetheless, I enjoy it!

We had a nice weekend in San Diego with Uncle Bow and Aunt Sara. All of the other siblings were there for the weekend too, and they all babysat Amelia on Saturday night while Daddy and Mommy joined a few others over at the Pascoe's for a lovely evening. We got to meet sweet baby Mia! She was a quiet sleeping little bundle all evening.

After an encouraging all day meeting with the folks in La Mesa, we joined together once again on the couch, chairs and floor to take in some scrumptious Super Bowl fare and of course, watch the game.
