December recap

I think that the best way to describe our December this year is: family time. We laid to rest two dear beloved Grandparents within one week. Their funerals brought many, many loved ones together. We all had the privilege of being at Grandma Adkins graveside service, and although cold and rainy (for us Californians anyway) it was a peaceful, memorable service. Nathan was able to fly back for his Grandpa Buchanan's funeral in Illinois and was surrounded by loved ones he hadn't seen in years. Grandpa's graveside service was a wee bit different with freezing temperatures, snow and heavy wind. Another memorable experience for more than one reason. We miss both of them but know they now rest in the Lord. Following are some pictures of our loved ones that came together from near and far.

...and just a plain ol' family photo of us. : )

Thanksgiving

For whatever reason, Blogger seems to be accepting pictures again, so here are a few of us from Thanksgiving time (better late than never, eh?).

Amelia's kindergarten "feast" at school consisting of a trail mix of sorts.  ; )

Wyatt with our neighbors. We have so much fun with them!
Helping Papa out by raking leaves...
...and then jumping into them! : )

Amelia's place setting handiwork.
It's extra sweet to see this picture now that Grandma has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour.

full

I'm not ignoring this blog on purpose. Last time I tried to upload photos, it told me that I had reached my limit on photo storage. So, with everything else going on in life, I haven't figured it out yet. But then I just tried again, and these pictures worked! So maybe I don't have a problem. Who knows. In the mean time, here are a few photos taken this month:

Amelia and her friend made this sign for her door.
It translates: "No boys allowed in the room. Sorry! Only girls allowed."

Amelia's poster for "Camper of the Week" at school
(every week a different student gets to be the student of the week).

Just an FYI, the glasses "help me see" even though they don't have lenses.

Sunday School Picnic

Last month the folks up in Shadow Hills had us all up for their annual Sunday School Picnic. And they do it up right, let me tell ya. Thanks to all of you who put it all together and made the day such a fun one!

Was it Mandy who thought of this game? The poor person standing behind the cow...

Lovely ladies.
I can't believe he wasn't itchy from this!
Lining up by height to determine teams.
Finding the gold in the straw.

Can it get any cuter?
Popping balloons are not Wyatt's thing.
Slime!

costume parade

Our lil' punkins. ♥

This is one of our sweet neighbor ladies who set up a little table for the kids since we don't really get trick-or-treater's in our complex. She wanted to still be a part of the festivities. : )

Izzy (the girl pirate from Disney's Jake and the Neverland Pirates) and Spider Man.

The costume parade at Amelia's school this morning (she's on the far left of the stage).

The Room 30 Happy Campers all dressed up. : )
