Grandma Cake!

the wild bunch

with Uncle Nick

We enjoyed yet another weekend at Dad and Mom's up in Tehachapi. The raccoon was eating the cat food, and as you can see, we did our own share of eating - all weekend long. We got to celebrate Grandma's birthday again with those that weren't able to make it to the celebration the weekend before. Grandma wasn't complaining about getting to eat the cake she created! For those of you who don't know about Grandma Cake, it is a staple in the Adkins household present at most birthday festivities. Yum!

say cheese!

baby chicks

Last evening we went to the Orange County Fair (theme: "Say Cheese!", a long way from the 1990's "Get a Moooove On to the Spokane Interstate Fair"... haha, Drew) with Travis, Kim and Morgan. The girls enjoyed the petting zoo where they were introduced goats, llamas, deer, chickens, ducks, pigs, and kangaroos. We consumed waaaay to much food as usual, but it was well worth it.
FYI, there were lots of posts this week, I don't think this will be the norm. We don't usually have this much fun all at once. : )

picnic lunch with daddy

On Wednesday, Amelia and Mommy picked Daddy up from work and took him for a picnic lunch at Shoreline Park. Amelia got to see the Queen Mary, a lighthouse and lots of pigeons. Daddy went back to the office with muddy shoes, a small consolation for spending time with his sweet girl during the middle of a work week.

fun at the miller's

Today we invited ourselves over to the Miller's (thanks Megan!) where there was fellowship, swimming, eating and kids running and dancing. We had a lovely time!

GG's 93rd Birthday

We met up with Grandma to celebrate her 93rd birthday with all the family that could make it. After enjoying a nice meal, we were treated to a birthday cake and of course, singing by the waiters. After the cake and a few chocolate candies, Amelia's second cousin was quite giddy and couldn't stop giggling. : ) Happy birthday Grandma!

banana girl

Eating a banana like a big girl, no more finger food from the tray. If you don't watch it, she'll take a big chunk out of the peel too! Mmmm.

We’re giving this blog thing a try for those of you who live far away…

I attempted to take both girls to the playground, soon discovering that with tons of other kids running around, maybe it wasn't such a great idea for one person to try to handle two one year olds with unsure footing. So the next day we just explored the grass in the park near our house.
