the old ball game

We just remembered these pictures on our camera from the Angel's baseball game we went to when Uncle Drew was here. Although we did root, root, root for the home team, the Brewers (who are they, anyway?) ran a lot more guys across home plate than we did. A fun night though!

mmmm. hot dog.

bonfire & birthdays

As promised, here are a few more pictures of our baby's first birthday weekend. We headed to the beach with Travis, Kim, Morgan and Uncle Drew for some blackened hot dogs (yum!) and gourmet smores. Somehow food always tastes so good over an open flame.

The next day the whole extended Adkins family showed up to help celebrate Wyatt's first birthday. We celebrated Uncle Nick's birthday too. His was at the beginning of May but kinda got buried under pre-wedding commotion. To honor both boys, we had a John Deere themed party. We hope we made our Buchanan relatives proud. : )

(well, all John Deere except for this CAT!)

Cinderella and Skid Steers

We got to go see a production of Cinderella while we were in Tehachapi this weekend. Aunt Myra and Grandma's neighbors, the R's, who take wonderful care of GG got us tickets. Amelia said that the only special ones in the play were the Fairy God Mother and Princess Jasmine (of course, the two R girls). Unfortunately, Amelia did pick up some bad habits from the overly zealous step-sisters in the play and I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with that.

Enjoying the beautiful weather.

Amelia supervising Uncle Nick as he and Papa get ready to head out to do some work (don't mind her mis-matched outfit, there were several wardrobe changes that day for various reasons). Little did they know they'd have an adventure with a rather large diamondback rattlesnake. Thankfully, everyone was okay. That is, except for the snake. He was no match for Uncle Nick and his mower.
