a visit to maisonnette

Maisonnette opened in July. It is only an hour from my house. I finally went this week. What took me so long? They have done a wonderful job fixing up an old house and filling it with gorgeous fabrics and examples of fun project ideas.

Besides an innocent upset of the Goldfish snacks in the kitchen, Amelia loved shopping for fabric with Jill and playing with all the fun stuff they had there. Thanks Madeline and Ava for letting us take the store by storm with the kids, we all enjoyed it!

future architects

Do our kids have any choice? We think its in their blood to design and draft. So we thought we'd get them exposed early to the profession and take them to see Daddy at work. After a quick lunch in the park we headed up to the 20th floor to check out the office. Only time will tell if they will follow in our footsteps. : )

two years

Tomorrow will mark two years of me watching Morgan. I did this post last year, so I thought I'd keep up the tradition. : )

the evergreen state [with some fall color mixed in]

We had the opportunity to fly up to the greater Seattle area this past weekend to visit my Uncle Ernie and Aunt Jane. My parents usually go over there every October and stay for the weekend in their cozy log cabin, and cousin-uncle (for those of you who want to know, Ernest is my dad's cousin somewhere down the line and Jane is my mom's sister...) thought it would be fun to invite us along this year. We are missing pictures of a short jet-boat trip for the guys, I had the camera with me that afternoon. : )

Look at that form!?!

Lunch at Bothell Country Village after feeding the ducks and doing a little shopping.

The Northwest air makes his cheeks rosy.

Wyatt was pretty much held the whole weekend.

with Uncle Drew

Uncle Ernie got a few snuggles in here and there as well.

Cruising Loma Lake while the ladies went shopping and Pops D hung out with Wyatt inside the house in the background.

Drew & Michael exploring the path to the ice caves.

The ice caves are formed by runoff and warm winds.

Who says Californians don't blend in the Northwest?
(did I just admit to being a Californian?)

Dad, Mom, Wyatt & Dusty

Eric and Amelia sharing a karaoke moment.
Amelia's fave's: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Old Mac Donald, London Bridges, and a solo of Jesus Loves Me (she kinda took over the show).

Wyatt unimpressed by our vocal skills.

Drew bravely standing over the North Fork of the South Fork Stillaquamish River.

Ahh, throwing rocks into water, a favorite for all ages.

Thanks again Uncle Ernie and Aunt Jane for an enjoyable weekend!

faces of Amelia

Why does she always seem to perform at the dinner table? Perhaps it's the attention of both parents sitting right there as her audience. Perhaps it's because we keep taking pictures of her doing it.

dinosaur park

Last Friday, Kari invited me to go to the kick off event for her MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) group through a church near her house. We started off the day with coffee, fruit and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Mmmm. I won a gift card from a raffle, the kids played and the mommy's talked.

By the way, it's called Dinosaur Park because they found dinosaur bones at this site when they were developing it. Cool, huh?
