the evergreen state [with some fall color mixed in]

We had the opportunity to fly up to the greater Seattle area this past weekend to visit my Uncle Ernie and Aunt Jane. My parents usually go over there every October and stay for the weekend in their cozy log cabin, and cousin-uncle (for those of you who want to know, Ernest is my dad's cousin somewhere down the line and Jane is my mom's sister...) thought it would be fun to invite us along this year. We are missing pictures of a short jet-boat trip for the guys, I had the camera with me that afternoon. : )

With Papa D at Loma Lake

Look at that form!?!

Lunch at Bothell Country Village after feeding the ducks and doing a little shopping.

The Northwest air makes his cheeks rosy.

An old school horse from a merry-go-round.

Wyatt was pretty much held the whole weekend.
Eric taking his turn : )

with Uncle Drew

Uncle Ernie got a few snuggles in here and there as well.

Cruising Loma Lake while the ladies went shopping and Pops D hung out with Wyatt inside the house in the background.

Drew & Michael exploring the path to the ice caves.

The ice caves are formed by runoff and warm winds.

Who says Californians don't blend in the Northwest?
(did I just admit to being a Californian?)

Dad, Mom, Wyatt & Dusty

Eric and Amelia sharing a karaoke moment.
Amelia's fave's: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Old Mac Donald, London Bridges, and a solo of Jesus Loves Me (she kinda took over the show).

Wyatt unimpressed by our vocal skills.

Drew bravely standing over the North Fork of the South Fork Stillaquamish River.

Ahh, throwing rocks into water, a favorite for all ages.

Thanks again Uncle Ernie and Aunt Jane for an enjoyable weekend!

Great to see your family again! What is Drew up to these days? Hope he is doing well. Nice to see the greenbluff apples too...hmmm...miss those! Nothing like the crunch, the juice and the chalky texture of them! Enjoy a few for us. Take it easy Nat! Miss you!!!

Looks like a very fun weekend. Definately in the Pacific NW with all that greenery! Where are those ice caves? I'd like to go see that someday! Little Wyatt definately had cuddle time with all his relatives :-)

That brings back nice memories of the Storrer cabin, the ice caves and the river (affectionately known as the Stilly). Auntie J sure knows how to make a nice retreat.

Old Uncle Ernest says..."we are still smiling here". By the way, those logs are gone as the water came up over the bank and swept them all away on Friday night.

I am impressed you remembered "The North Fork of the South Fork of the Stillaquamish" It would have been easier to say and spell the "Stilly" that is why as Kelly says, we commonly (affectionately)call it that. We loved your visit, Aunt Jane
